‘Future Self’ is the newest performative installation by London-based collection Random International. The interactive work is a study in human movement mirroring interaction in dance, light and sound, while exploring the self - present and future. It attempts to reveal what it can about one’s identity and the relationship which we have with our own self image reflecting and rendering one’s movements in light resulting in a three-dimensional ‘living’ sculpture, derived from the composite gestures of those who surround it; represented in an illuminated presence - another version of themselves. Grethe Sørensen is a weaver who combines digital jacquard with video, working in collaboration with video artist Bo Hovgaard. She uses images of the lights of the city at night and the flowing movements of the video create an ethereal counterpoint to the weight and structure of the weavings.

By Sterling Ruby, the textures of these amazing, melting sculptures just make you want to touch them. I fear I would be a naughty viewer and probably touch one only to have it melt away in my fingers. The colours are extraordinary!
